Bilingual Program (English)

At Centro Educacional Leonardo da Vinci, the Early Childhood Education aggregates the very best of international teaching. Since 2006, 50% of the classes for the children who stay in school the whole day are in English. The classes are taught by foreign teachers who have at least a BA in Education and English as their mother tongue. Coming from many different countries, the teachers are hired by the school exclusively to teach at the bilingual program. Different cultures and customs are inter-twined, providing the students with an amplified world view and a conception of the language as an intercultural instrument.

In the program, all the activities (arriving and leaving, circle time, shower, lunch, Music, and Physical Education) are offered in Portuguese and in English as well. Therefore, at the end of first grade, besides having learned how to read and write in Portuguese, the student will have developed listening and speaking skills in the English language, which will certainly help the mastering of the language in years to come of his schooling and life context.
