The library of Centro Educacional Leonardo da Vinci is receiving a computerized control system that will handle all the books and videotapes, which are already being registered on the system and receiving bar code labels, so they can be easily identified through optic reading.
About ten thousand books, many videos, magazines and newspapers are stored on the library, that also has nine computers connected to the Internet and equipped with multimedia kits.
The school develops, mainly with the first graders, programs to foster reading, promoting a great demand for children books.
The students of the kindergarten are participating on a project of intellectual development, where each student chooses a character of his preference, writes a history on it and tells his colleagues. Coordinated by Denize Perin Campos, one of the library`s major goals is to be always motivating students towards reading and knowledge. "The library is the generating base to knowledge ", she said.
