With April rolling around the corner, the kids of Infantil IV have anxiously been awaiting the beginning of our first themed project for the year. This year’s theme will follow suit with the anniversary of the schools founding, as we will be exploring games and activities played during the renaissance era. As we make our way into the first week of the project, Infantil IV will be wrapping up a refresher unit on colors, fruits, vegetables, the human body and hygiene basics. Thought this introduction unit our children have been very keen on speaking in English, as they bring a wealth of knowledge with them from the year before.
As we build the basic vocabulary of our children, Infantil IV teachers have combined classroom learning with lunch time education. Using flash cards, along with books and games we are gradually making the connection between classroom activities and real life situations. Building on words such as broccoli, tomato and carrots we have been able to bring English to the lunch table as the children are both looking for a healthier way to eat, along with expressing their ideas in a foreign language. We hope to carry on this exercise, as a healthy diet is part of our comprehensive educational values.
