My Body… From Head to Toe

On April 14th Infantil II started the first semester project called My Body… From Head to Toe. The students began the project during Portuguese time by making a life-size mascot named Luana. Luana now resides in our classroom and helps us to learn about our body. With Luana’s help we have already begun to learn the names of various parts of our body in both English and Portuguese.





Over the next few months the students will continue to expand on this vocabulary. Furthermore, they will develop a better understanding of their body, how it works, and what it is capable of. Various times each week the students will explore the topics of this project through music, stories, art and games.

When we aren’t learning about our amazing bodies the students will be exploring the magical world of books. Every couple of weeks the students will begin a new mini-theme based on a book. Activities, games, songs and so on created to meet the Infantil II objectives will be based on the stories.





During the last two weeks we have been enjoying the tale of The Three Little Pigs. We read the story, listened to the story on tape, watched the movie, completed various art and math activities and even helped the teacher act out the story. This week we will get to know a more recent classic by Laura Numeroff called If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
