Presentation My body...from head to toe

On July 3rd, parents of the students in Infantil II were invited to the school to assist a presentation of “My body… from head to toe”.



The small court was decorated with various elements from the project. The giraffe used to measure the students height was displayed along side Luana, the mascot, and various other collective activities. There was also a gallery of self-portraits made by the students at the end of the project. Of course, we also displayed a ton of photos taken during the project. There were pictures of the students tossing the ball into a basket, walking on a row of tires, exploring the school with binoculars, completing paper activities and painting each other from head to toe. As we had studied the five senses, there was a table full of objects used to explore the senses. Scent bottles for smell, a texture carpet for touch, noise makers and drums for hearing, salt and sugar for taste and binoculars for sight.





When the parents arrived in the small court all of the students from Infantil II-I and II-A were eagerly awaiting them in a circle. In the middle of the circle there were cubes with images on all sides. These images were of objects representing themes studied during the project such as: hands and feet to represent parts of the body; an apple to represent healthy eating; a shower to represent body care; a jump rope to represent exercise and movement; and binoculars to represent the 5 senses.





The presentation was based on a Brazilian circle game called “vamos imitar” and the cubes were used to guide the flow of the presentation. In order to begin the presentation a teacher invited a student to pick a cube from the middle of the circle. As each cube was chosen the teachers guided the students in a discussion about the image on the cube. After each cube the students imitated the object or action.

After all the cubes had been picked the students rose to sing “Head and Shoulders” and “Corpo Esperto”.





After impressing their parents and teachers with a wonderful performance the students received an enthusiastic round of applause. Students and parents then collected the activities and explored the project materials together.





All in all everyone had a great time. Congratulations to Infantil II on all their hard work!
