We are beginning our 5th school year, and this time, besides keeping three of our 2009 foreign teachers we are receiving two new ones, Leanne Watson (Infantil III-I) and Shannon MacInnes (1st grade I).
This year we have two classes of Infantil II that are being conducted by Sara Kaczmarek, and the two Infantil IV classes that have Roxanne Thomas and Frank Ehrenfried as teachers.
Until last year, each teacher shared the same classroom with their Brazilian counterpart. This kind of organization remains the same for Infantil II, III and IV. However, a new model has been implemented for 1st grade. We are very confident that the new organization for this age group is going to meet the children’s needs and become a great challenge not only for the students, but also for their teachers.
First graders now have two different classrooms: the English and the Portuguese. Instead of having the teachers alternating the same environment, each teacher has her own classroom. In this manner, our first graders have the chance to experience two completely different places.
The classrooms are carefully prepared to meet the goals of each language and we truly believe that the students are really going to enjoy the new format.
