English Immersion 2010: a journey around the world
Six continents – North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania.
Eight countries – United States, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, England, Greece, South Korea and Australia.
Fetch your passport! Join your group and let’s begin our journey.
Our goal is “to visit” all these places while we learn more English.
That’s what is happening during our English immersion days with 2nd and 3rd grade students at DaVinci. We have been traveling around, and started our journey in the United States, passed through Mexico, arrived in Brazil and soon will be in South Africa just before the World Cup.
Every time we enter a new country our passport is stamped and the fun begins. Up to now we have known the Statue of Liberty, learned a little bit about Walt Disney and how to make a cartoon, tasted delicious chocolate chip cookies, enjoyed making a mask for the Day of the Dead in Mexico, visited a Mayan pyramid, played peteca just like the indians used to do a long time ago, admired the beautiful Brasília projected by Oscar Niemeyer and explored the wonders of the Amazon.
Everyone is excited to land in South Africa and discover what kind of adventures are waiting for us there.
Our journey will continue after that, but England, Greece, South Korea and Australia will have to wait for us until September, when our immersion classes begin again.
