This years children`s day presentation was an absolute success. With the participation of both Fundamental 1 and Educação Infantil, our teachers once again put on a grandiose show, demonstrating much of our stage talent. The theme this year was TV da Vinci, as children were presented a television style program for an hour. The skits included pseudo-commercials, music videos and even a cooking show put on by the foreign teachers.
Chaos in the Kitchen presented our cast of kooky characters, as we put on a funny mixed up mess for the children to get a good laugh out of. From the chicken running away from the chefs, to the main course, the rabbit boinking the kitchen prep Chop Suey on the head, our cast of characters put on a riot of a show. Ending with a comedic finale, our animals fought back against the cooks, throwing Leanne (helper chef) into the pot of stew. As Martin (head chef) turns around to find the mess created in his kitchen, the animals run off stage laughing in a fit, escaping their tasty, yet deadly ending.
Children`s day in an important aspect of Brazilian culture that is something new for those of us from who come from abroad. To be able to take part in this experience of celebrating children and childhood was something teachers of the Bilingual Program were happy to participate in. Not only were we able to learn a little about Brazilian childhood songs and stories, but we were also able to contribute our own talent while adding a dash of the English language to spice things up.
