We`re Not Babies Any More!
14/07/2010 · por Sara Kaczmarek · Tags: Programa Bilíngue

As we round out our final week of school before our long anticipated “ferias,” I`m impressed and very proud of all the students in Infantil II.  Over the past six months, the students have grown tremendous amounts.  As individuals, students have taken on many challenges, learned to over come fears by trying new things, listened closely by following instructions from teachers, and made important decisions that have come to separate them from “the baby class.”  As a group, we are continuously learning to work together, to share, to communicate with one another, as well as attempting to respect and taking care of one another in a loving way.

The English language is flowing quite spontaneously throughout our classrooms, as many students love to play the roll of “teacher;” organizing each other in the ever famous “sing-song” fashion. The days when English was so new and fresh, too foreign to be understood seems like a distant memory.  Infantil II now tackles English head on, trying to use the language in multiple ways to express themselves.

A great measure of our growth was displayed at our first semester project exposition “My Body… From Head to Toe,” that took place on Thursday July 8th, 2010.  Parents, family members, teachers, and coordinators alike joined in to watch the students of Infantil II present games, songs, and dances learned throughout our project.  Spending almost four month studying all the “ins and outs” of the human body, we learned that our body is very clever and can do many, many things.  We also learned the importance of how to take care of our bodies to keep them smart and healthy.  Overall, the project and presentation was a huge success, and I couldn`t be more proud and satisfied with all of the students.  Congratulations to Infantil II!

But as the saying goes “All good things must come to and end.”  Unfortunately I will be saying goodbye to Infantil II and Leonardo, as I am returning back to the United States as of our vacation.  It has been a challenging, interesting, a crazy experience (to say the least!) these past two and a half years here, and I wouldn`t trade the time I spent at Leonardo for anything in the world.  Thank you to all the teachers, families, friends, and co-workers who have made my time here so special and memorable.  I will always feel like I have a home here at Leonardo and will carry you all with me in my heart where ever I go.

And remember:
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I`ll miss you,
until we meet again!”
